KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 23 — National police chief Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar has ordered an investigation on a Twitter user over a tweet accusing him of making a “sweet deal” with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
The tweet from Twitter user @firamond today said: “@My_CrimeWatch @KBAB51 bodoh dan samseng. After make sweet deal with najib, he think he more powerful than agong”.
It was a reply to a tweet by anti-crime group MyWatch on its @My_CrimeWatch handle that said: “Adakah @KBAB51 BODOH kerana memanggil seorang tertuduh yang belum disabit kesalahan sebagai penjenayah?”, about a news report that quoted Khalid as saying last Friday that he did not have to answer to a “criminal who has been charged in court”, referring to MyWatch chairman Datuk R. Sri Sanjeevan.
[Translation: Is @KBAB51 STUPID for calling an accused who has yet to be convicted a criminal?].
Khalid then tweeted from his @KBAB51 handle, asking the Police Cyber Investigation Response Centre (PCIRC) and the police to “track and call the [user] of the tweet handle below and question what is the user’s meaning of ‘sweet deal’”.
