HULU TERENGGANU: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) will continue investigations on one Mohd Faiz who reportedly insulted the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V on his Facebook page.

Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Jailani Johari said although Mohd Faiz had apologised, the investigation must be completed as the words used were believed to be defamatory.

“If we read the newspapers, he has apologised, but a complaint has been lodged against him and the investigation will proceed,” he said after launching the 1Malaysia Internet Centre at Kampung Chapu here yesterday.

Jailani said MCMC would not hesitate to act against any individual making defamatory remarks.

“We want the people to know that they must be responsible for their behaviour and whatever they do.”

On the alleged resignation of Khairy Jamaluddin as Youth and Sports Minister and Rembau MP which has gone viral, Jailani said it could be the work of irresponsible parties.

“Maybe it is the work of people who are envious of Umno’s unity and success … I am not accusing anyone, but I hope it can be stopped.

“I have asked the MCMC to assist in the investigation and in the technical aspect,” he said. — Bernama
