Owing to its specs and capabilities, the Mantis 8 Pro can be classified as a performance scooter. However, it’s not quite up there with the likes of the Mantis 10 Pro or Wolf Warrior X that sit in the upper tier of the category, nor is it comparable with the more basic models of its ilk – such as the original Mantis 8.
Terrain-wise, the 8 Pro’s suspension, and tires (albeit small) enable it to take on both urban and off-road terrain with ease – though it’s smoother, more well-maintained roads that you’ll observe the best results. Plus, it’s worth noting that the 8 Pro isn’t designed for off-roading – if that’s your bag, I’d recommend shelling out a bit extra for the Wolf Warrior X and its interchangeable off-road tires.
If you’re looking for a commuter scooter, don’t be fooled by the 8 Pro’s trim, slimmed-down frame – this isn’t the model for you. While it’s one of the lighter models the Manti range has produced, the 8 Pro is still almost 20 lbs heavier than the maximum weight I recommend for commuter scooters.
The 8 Pro is, however, a great scooter for new riders wanting an entry-level performance scooter. In fact, it very nearly ties with the Apollo Ghost for this title. Its acceleration packs plenty of punch, and its top speed will get your heart racing.
Best Electric Scooters

To answer this question, it’s worth comparing the 8 Pro to several of the other models in the Manti family – the Mantis Pro and Pro SE. These models (which are also known as the Mantis 10 family, owing to the 10-inch diameter of their tires) are a little larger than their Mantis 8 counterparts – but do they represent better value?
I think they do – have a look at the table below to see if you agree.
