Testing & Analysis

How Did We Choose the Scooters?

When choosing the top-performing models, we paid particular focus to the motor, range, and braking power, as well as load capacity (i.e. ability to carry extra gear), water-resistance ratings, suspension systems, heavy-duty build quality, and tire type. We also made sure to select the models that are primed for use off-road and that have quiet motors.

Whether you’re looking for an easier way to get to your duck blind or deer stand, or want to check your trail cams in a fraction of the time that it would take to hike, using an off-road electric scooter that leaves no scent trail is ideal.

Summary:

The NAMI Burn-e 2 sent the scooter industry into a delirious tailspin upon its release. Rival brands – reduced to nothing more than deers in the headlights – were dumbfounded by its mesmeric blend of power and grace; indeed, it’s this alchemy that distinguishes the Burn-e 2 as a perfect hunting companion.

So, what’s its secret? Well, there are several, including a discreet matte black finish, a 90-mile range, super quiet 1000W motors, and a sturdy frame that takes rough forest trails in its stride. With more than enough power to carry you and your gear over rough terrain, this is a comfortable scooter that will let you travel further, stay out longer, and leave no scent trail.

The Burn-e 2 isn’t cheap. But hunting is all about small advantages; with this scooter in your arsenal, you’re putting yourself several steps ahead in a game of cat and mouse.

NAMI Burn-e 2 Front Disc Brake

Why We Recommend It:

While some hunters turn to ATVs or UTVs to save their legs and increase the range of a hunt, the Burn-e 2 is smaller, more maneuverable, and significantly quieter. Based on the formidable NAMI Burn-e 2 Max, this model is its less powerful sibling. The payoff is it’s also significantly less expensive, while still packing enough power to strip bark off a tree.

Josh on the NAMI Burn-e 2

Its two 72V 1000W motors – which far outweigh the power generated by the 52V or 60V motors typically associated with comparable scooters – can deliver a top speed of 45 mph that not even a grizzly bear could keep up with. What’s more, it accelerates from 0 to 15 mph in a blistering 1.8 seconds and wastes no time in thrumming to 25 mph, either, taking just 3.2 seconds. Bring considerable levels of torque into the equation and you have a scooter that will treat steep inclines as easy prey.

NAMI Burn-e 2 Rear Motor

This brute force is kept on a leash by two 30A Sine Wave controllers that smooth the acceleration to prevent you from losing your grip on the deck and flying into the undergrowth. As well as helping you reach those out-of-the-way, prime spots with more speed and stealth, the Burn-e 2’s power ensures that you can remove yourself from any dangerous situations with haste.

NAMI Burn-e 2 Thumb Throttle

But often, those desired spots are way out in the sticks. You’ll therefore want a scooter that has the stamina to match its power – again, the NAMI Burn-e 2 excels. Its titanic 72V 28Ah battery has a maximum range of 90 miles in its locker, or around 50 miles if conditions are a little more challenging. Provided you plan ahead and know the terrain well, you should have no concerns when it comes to relying on this thoroughbred to get you there and back.

NAMI Burn-e 2 Charging Ports Open

Successful hunters can also adapt to their surroundings; here again, the Burn-e 2 will add an extra string to your bow. One particularly useful reason why it’s so well suited to hunting is that it can be modified for the terrain. There are 5 different riding modes, 2 of which can be fully customized to provide the perfect torque, braking, and accelerative power to match the requirements of the local area.

NAMI Burn-e 2 Display

This capability is further sharpened by the KKE hydraulic suspension, which quite frankly is an ingenious feat of engineering. It’s completely adjustable, meaning you can tighten or loosen it to your liking. Consequently, you won’t find yourself bouncing every time you go over a small bump.

NAMI Burn-e 2 Rebound Dial

Supplementing this are a pair of 11-inch air-filled tubeless tires; there’s also the option to purchase additional no-flat tires that contain an internal layer of slime that flows into a puncture before any air can be lost. Or, if your hunting spot is likely to be strewn in gnarly terrain, the off-road variants will be a better fit.

NAMI Burn-e 2 PMT Tire

Hunting requires a lot of equipment, and a lot of equipment usually amounts to a lot of extra weight. Thankfully, the Burn-e 2 has things covered. It comes with a high load-bearing capacity of 330 lbs, which is in no small part down its welded tubular construction. The suspension also allows you to add preload to the springs, meaning you can essentially tailor the system to your weight for an optimal riding experience. This will prove to be an invaluable feature when you’re lugging both your gear and your prize back home.

NAMI Burn-e 2 Deck

Factor in the IP55 and IP67 water-resistance ratings, and you have a scooter that’s ready-made for almost any scenario.

You can even control the flow of power to each motor independently, making it easy to handle unforgiving terrain and stable enough to take on mud and gravel. This sense of stability is further enhanced by the expansively wide handlebars that help maintain balance when traversing uneven surfaces.

NAMI Burn-e 2 Handlebars

As for the deck, it’s grippy and spacious, with more than enough room for both your feet in any stance. The large kickplate at the rear gives you even more balance and steering control, too.

NAMI Burn-e 2 Kickplate

On the handlebars, you’ll find the Burn-e 2’s large console. This is a full-color screen that lets you view all your trip data and access the scooter’s customization features. It’s more than bright enough to view in any light, but it doesn’t glow or produce any glare so it’s easy to check your scooter’s vitals while remaining stealthy. There’s also a hidden USB port, which is ideal for plugging in your phone or GPS navigation system.

NAMI Burn-e 2 USB Charging Port

Other controls include an ergonomic thumb throttle, a horn, and a set of buttons to control the lights. The light system is one of the best you can get and starts with a 2000-lumen headlight to lead the way. There’s also a responsive taillight and a set of turn signals that run along each side of the deck. All of these lights can be precisely controlled or disabled if you need to keep a low profile on an evening hunt.

NAMI Burn-e 2 Light Package

Weighing in at 100 lbs, this isn’t a very portable scooter, and you won’t be able to carry it very far. However, it does fold down easily, and as long as you have a pickup, you’ll be able to throw it in the back with no problem.

NAMI Burn-e 2 Folded From Rear

For a scooter with such savage power, strong brakes are key. Yet again, the Burn-e 2 hits the target with an exceptional set of Logan hydraulic 2-piston brakes. This is a high-performing system that will bring you to a complete stop from 15 mph in just 1.8 meters. They’re easy to apply too, with responsive hand levers positioned on either side of the handlebars.

NAMI Burn-e 2 Rear Disc Brake

The mic-dropping functionality of this scooter makes it ideal for hunting. Its formidable build quality gives it unbeatable durability, the quiet motors and long-range battery mean that you can stay out all day without animals hearing you coming, and the industry-leading suspension system ensures that you can ride comfortably no matter the environment.

NAMI Burn-e 2 Tubular Frame

If you’re looking to up your hunting game, the Burn-e 2 is a must-have accessory.

Summary:

Two words that sum up the Wolf King GT? Brutally efficient. Taking everything that sent scooter enthusiasts into a frenzy with the original King, Kaabo’s latest iteration raises the volume in every way, delivering an all-terrain behemoth that is manna from heaven for hunters.

Sure, the Wolf King GT doesn’t have the same stealthy appearance as the Burn-e 2, but it more than makes up for it with sheer power, nigh-on invincible durability, and balletic maneuverability.

A true powerhouse of the ultra-performance category, the Wolf King GT might just be the missing piece of the jigsaw in your quest to become an apex predator.

Josh on the Wolf King GT

Why We Recommend It:

Before we dive into this review, we understand that the glaringly-obviously gold paint job of the GT is far from ideal for hunting, but it's the color that we opted for when the scooter first got released. It can be purchased with a stealthier matte-black finish instead.

Wolf King GT Chassis

The Wolf King GT is like an ATV in scooter form, with a pinch of Harley Davidson thrown in for good measure. It’s great to look at and even better to ride. As one of the largest electric scooters we’ve ever tested, you’ll find more than enough space on the deck to get comfortable on long journeys to your hunting position. You’ll also have 330 lbs of load capacity to carry your gear and supplies.

Wolf King GT Deck and Kickplate

Capable of accelerating from 0 to 25 mph in a vicious 3.0 seconds, you’ll be glad to know that the 50A controllers ensure that the motors draw power smoothly and noiselessly, preventing you from being knocked off your feet or alerting a grumpy elk. Whether you’re hoping to chase down game or get out of trouble fast, this ultra-performance vehicle will facilitate it with zero fuss.

Wolf King GT Thumb Throttle

The savagely powerful dual 72V 2000W motors roar (quietly) with a nominal power of 4000W – double that of the NAMI Burn-e 2, which is no shrinking violet. Together, these torpedos can reach a maximum power output of 8400W to get you up to an impressive 62 mph top speed. They also make mincemeat of practically any incline on any terrain.

Wolf King GT Rear Motor

To put this into perspective, the GT can unleash the same top speed as a 500cc ATV. It also has a humongous 72V 35Ah battery with the capacity to reach 70 miles in ideal conditions. No matter how far you have to go to set up your blind or reach your tree stand, the GT will get you there quickly and quietly.

Dramatic Shot of the Wolf King GT Frame

To match its rapacious power, it’s armed with a pair of wonderfully efficient hydraulic disc brakes. They’re exceptionally quick to activate and are fitted with extra thick rotors to increase durability and reduce the need for maintenance. From 15 mph you can come to a complete stop in 3.0 meters, which is lightning fast – particularly for such a large scooter.

Wolf King GT Front Hydraulic Disc Brake

It also helps that the Wolf King GT is one of the sturdiest, most durable scooters on this side of the Serengeti. It has a wide frame, extra tall dual stem, broad handlebars, and a large, grippy deck. While this makes it pretty darn troublesome to carry, the benefit is that its hulking size provides excellent stability, regardless of terrain or speed.

Wolf King GT Handlebars

Such a beast requires large wheels, so you’ll be pleased to hear that the GT’s are a mammoth 11 x 3.5 inches. Not only do they deliver exceptional levels of traction, but they’re impervious to flats, freeing your mind to focus inside those cross-hares without worrying about getting home for dinner. Plus, unlike the NAMI models in this list, the GT is the only scooter that you can buy with pre-mounted off-road tires. (Or, you can pick up a pair here).

Wolf King GT Front Tire

So, we know that the GT has the speed, stamina, and load-bearing capabilities to make you look more menacing than Rambo, but what about that all-important ride quality? Well, guess what: the combination of inverted hydraulic shock absorbers and large juicy tires work exceptionally well at ironing out any bumps, twigs, roots, and mounds. It must be noted, though, that the GT’s suspension isn’t quite up to par with the system on both NAMI models.

Wolf King GT Motorcycle-Grade Suspension

When it comes to this scooter’s central nervous system, the next-gen TFT display is just as awesome as the rest of the scooter. It has a large screen that lets you take in key trip stats at a glance. You can also switch between 6 riding modes and select from various customizable settings to make sure it will work at its optimum in the local terrain. In addition, you’ll find buttons to turn on the dazzling dual headlights, taillights, deck lights, and turn signals.

Wolf King GT Powerful Lights at Night

The Wolf King GT has all the chops to get you in and out on the hunt in record time with a bounty to boot. Its sturdy frame will easily transport you and your gear for many miles over difficult terrain in challenging weather. While it doesn’t have the same amount of storage space as a standard ATV, it’s more nimble, significantly stealthier, and leaves no scent trail.

ELECTRICSCOOTERINSIDER100

Summary:

The Burn-e 2 Max is the chieftain of the fearsome NAMI clan. It’s indomitable – as even Dualtron’s biggest heavy hitters will attest – and custom-made for hunters who see themselves as the lord of their tree-covered manor.

Featuring the same welded tubular frame and matte black finish as its little brother, but with larger motors, a bigger battery, and even more efficient brakes, the Max is everything the Burn-e 2 is, but on steroids.

Granted, it comes with a bigger price tag, but if you’re on the hunt for a scooter that will take command of any situation or terrain, the Burn-e 2 Max is top of the food chain.

NAMI Burn-e 2 Rear Tire

Why We Recommend It:

The NAMI Burn-e 2 Max is one of the most awe-inspiring electric scooters we’ve ever reviewed. It has dual 1500W motors that have a monumental peak output of 8400W; let them off the reins, and they’ll take you to a stunning top speed of 60 mph without so much as a growl. Hills? What about them? The Max eats inclines as a snack.

Josh With the NAMI Burn-e 2

Predictably, it boasts best-in-class acceleration. Armed with two 50A Sine Wave controllers, it can get you smoothly from 0 mph to 15 mph in a ridiculous 1.7 seconds. It should be noted, however, that there is no perceptible difference in accelerative power between the Max and the Burn-e 2 up to 25 mph. Considering the price difference, this may be a detail worth considering.

NAMI Burn-e 2 Rear of Tire and Suspension

But what isn’t up for debate is the need for a crushing set of brakes. The Max is fitted with 4-piston Logan hydraulics, which, though similar to the 2-piston brakes on the Burn-e 2, are a slight upgrade and effortlessly capable of bringing you to a shuddering stop. You also get adjustable regenerative brakes that recycle wasted power from the motors back into the battery. The intensity of these can be set to a strength that suits your local terrain.

NAMI Burn-e 2 Scooter Controls

And, as with the Burn-e 2, this adjustability extends to the Max’s show-stopping suspension. You can dial the springs to exact rebound and damping levels that perfectly match your weight and terrain. This is particularly useful if you’re edging towards the Max’s 330 lbs load capacity with your equipment in tow.

NAMI Burn-e 2 Rebound Adjustment

The huge 11-inch tires that come as standard are more suited to roads than craggy off-road trails, so we strongly recommend ordering a pair of never-flat off-road tires instead, as these will deliver much better performance when erring off the beaten track.

NAMI Burn-e 2 Front Tire

With so much to dissect here, I haven’t even mentioned the maximum range of 115 miles yet. This is all the work of its monolithic 72V 40Ah LG battery.

Considering its size, the battery can recharge in an impressive 8 to 10 hours, with the option of purchasing an additional fast charger that will get the job done in just 5 hours.

NAMI Burn-e 2 Charging Ports

Weighing a hefty 103 lbs, it's easy to see that the designers at NAMI weren’t prioritizing portability when they designed the Max. However, surprisingly, it’s significantly easier to fold than many of its competitors. Plus, you can get a good grip on the tubular chassis so you’ll be able to hoist it into the back of a pickup.

NAMI Burn-e 2 Folded

But while portability isn’t a priority, handling and maneuverability are. A spacious, high-mounted deck with excellent ground clearance; a tall carbon fiber stem; and 27-inch handlebars all converge to deliver a ride that exudes stability and control. This is a key quality if you’re scrambling through thick forest to get to your favorite spot in time to catch the herd.

Front of NAMI Burn-e 2 Handlebars

Moving our attention to the cockpit controls, you’ll find a large waterproof smart display. Here you can make adjustments to the ride settings and customize p-settings, as well as view key metrics. It’s packed with useful features, has a full-color screen, and can be seen even in direct sunlight.

NAMI Burn-e 2 Display Icons

Also on the handlebars, there’s a thumb throttle, horn, and light controls. The light system includes a 2000-lumen headlight, a responsive taillight, and a set of turn signals that run along either side of the deck, allowing you to cut through the thick darkness of night.

NAMI Burn-e 2 Deck Lights

This ultra-performance scooter is set to revolutionize hunting with its noiseless motors, 60 mph top speed, outstanding range, and extra-durable frame. It also features an IP55 water-resistance rating, with some key components having individual ratings of IP67. Whatever the weather and no matter how tough the terrain, this juggernaut will carry you and your gear safely out on the trails. Live. Laugh. Hunt. To the Max.
