Looking for a scooter with tyres that deliver a unique riding experience? There’s only one real contender: the Dualtron X 2. This beast of a performance scooter is the very definition of extreme, renowned for its fearsome reputation and supersized frame.
You won’t get bigger than the X’s enormous 13 x 4 inch pneumatic tyres. At first glance, you’d be forgiven for thinking that these have been borrowed from a motorcycle – the X 2 feels more at home in this category when compared alongside some of the other electric scooters on the market. In fact, the X's tyres are more similar to those on a car thanks to the fact that they’re so big and can roll over obstacles easily.
They deliver a soft and cushioned ride, absorbing any harsh impacts from the road. However, their sheer size means they might take a while to get used to it. This is because the X’s increased tyre size means you’ll feel like you’re floating more than riding. Initially, it might feel quite clumsy, especially when turning. Scooters with smaller tyres are more easily able to execute sharp manoeuvres, but the extra girth on the X’s wheels makes this a bit more complicated. Needless to say, it’ll take an experienced rider to fully grasp the art of this.
In case you didn’t know, this scooter is fast. It’s the fastest model I’ve ever reviewed. Its ferocious dual motors have an eye-watering peak output of 8300W, making it capable of reaching a stunning 68 mph and giving it an unparalleled acceleration curve. The X’s chunky wheels and ultra-wide deck add some much-needed stability to the X’s wild side. Their increased width provides a balanced base so you’ll feel secure and safe even when riding at top speeds.
The X 2 also comes with an innovative steering damper. This is more commonly found on motorcycles, and it helps to minimize the amount of wobble in the steering and handlebars. Like the big wheels, this is an awesome feature for a scooter that goes as fast as this one does. The steering damper ensures that high-speed riding produces a good kind of adrenaline, rather than a panic-filled dread that you’re going to lose control when you’re flying along at close to 60 mph.
The X 2’s supersized tyres are perfect for tackling any type of terrain. They don’t feature the more classic knobby tread that you’ll find on off-road tyres like the Dualtron Ultra, but they have more than enough traction to deal with loose and solid surfaces alike.
Their tubeless design also lends itself to venturing off the beaten path. Pneumatic tyres are at risk of suffering flats, however, the majority of punctures occur within the inner tube. By removing this and going tubeless, the X’s wheels are more flat-resistant and lower maintenance.
The X 2 also features the best suspension system I’ve ever come across. Comprising dual coil-over hydraulics, the X can adjust to any kind of riding scenario. The combination of spring and hydraulic shock absorbers makes the suspension both stiff and soft at the same time, increasing the X’s versatility. This is a major bonus for an experienced rider who’s more likely to want to branch out into a variety of different riding styles, rather than just sticking to one.
The Dualtron X 2 has a lot to offer and seasoned scooter vets will be happy to hear that it’s also got the miles to match. With a staggering 93-mile range, you’ll have more than enough juice in the tank to put the X through its paces. Like all of the components that make up this scooter, the massive 72V 42Ah battery is made with high-quality LG cells.
With a scooter this wild, strong brakes are key. Luckily, Dualtron has pulled out all the stops, opting for dual hydraulic disc brakes, complete with optional ABS (anti-lock braking system). These are some of the best brakes available because of their precise and controlled stopping power.
This scooter also comes with an impressive array of lights for nighttime riding, including an ultra-bright front headlight, swag lights, rear lights, and turn signals. These can be operated from the handlebars, where you’ll also find the Dualtron-favored EYE display controller and horn.
It’s pretty clear that the X 2 is the most outrageous scooter on the market and it does everything at an extreme. For the most part, this is a good thing, however, there are a few exceptions. For instance, the X 2 is heavy. It weighs a back-breaking 66 kg. Considering the size of its wheels, battery, and dual motors this isn’t too surprising, but it does mean it’s not practical to lift.
Another issue is the price tag. At £5,250, the Dualtron X 2 is way outside of most people’s budgets. It’s made for true extreme-scooter enthusiasts and is priced accordingly. The ultra-large tyres help to deliver a smooth, unique ride quality that is unbeatable once you’re used to it, and their tread makes this scooter suitable for all types of terrain. However, it’s not for inexperienced users. This is a machine that needs a practised hand to guide it, substantial muscles to lift it and a generous budget to afford it.
There’s no doubt that this is an outstanding scooter, and it performs in every way that matters.

With wheels that measure 11 x 3.5 inches, the Wolf Warrior is second only to the Dualtron X 2 when it comes to big tyres. You can guarantee a comfortable ride with wheels this tall and this wide because they’ve got enough substance to roll over and absorb the impact of even the biggest surface imperfections.
The Wolf Warrior’s tyres are pneumatic, which are known for their ability to mould to the road surface more easily. This means your ride will be more cushioned and plush than on scooters with solid tyres. Plus, pneumatics provide better traction and performance in wet weather conditions.
They have one main downside, though: they’re more vulnerable to flats. However, the Wolf Warrior sidesteps this problem neatly by incorporating a tubeless design. This is the part of an air-filled tyre that normally punctures, so without it, you’re left with a thicker, more durable flat-resistant tyre.
When it comes to tread depth and pattern, the choice lies completely in your hands. This is because the Wolf Warrior is available to order with either knobby off-road or slick road tyres fitted. Naturally, this will depend on what you’re planning to use the scooter for but if you opt for the road option, you can still expect pretty good performance on looser surfaces like dirt or sand. However, the mud-tyre configuration is uniquely designed to keep you stable in off-road conditions so is the best option if the idea of getting away from civilization for a while makes your heart flutter.
I’ve already mentioned how beastly this scooter is and its fearsome reputation extends further than the enormous tyres. Its powerful front and rear-wheel drive deliver a thrilling top speed of 50 mph whilst the huge LG battery can power the rotation of the wheels for 70 miles on a single charge.
Thanks to the two powerful motors and the extra-large wheels, the Wolf Warrior has a heart-stoppingly fast acceleration curve and can climb 30-degree inclines without breaking a sweat. To give you an idea of exactly how steep that is, take your phone, stand it up on a table and then angle it down just past halfway towards the table. Even some cars would struggle to scale an incline that steep!
I doubt you’ll ever need to climb a 30-degree incline but it is reassuring knowing that you can take on pretty much any hill thrown at you.
In addition to the raw power, the scooter has a motorcycle-grade hydraulic suspension system that sits above the front wheel alongside springs above the back that work in conjunction to provide a comfortable ride over all kinds of terrain. This is great news for your joints, which will feel the benefit of being protected from all of those harsh impacts.
Like everything else about the Wolf Warrior, its braking system is also top-of-the-range. Featuring dual hydraulics, you’ll benefit from having a brake located on each wheel and this will help to slow you down faster, even when you’re travelling at top speeds. Hydraulic brakes are, in my opinion, the most efficient braking option, so you can expect responsive control at all times. There is also the option to enable the ABS (anti-lock braking system) system to ensure those big wheels can be safely slowed down without locking up and skidding when the brakes are applied.
Other safety features include the impressive lighting setup the Wolf Warrior has to offer. It features big, bright LEDs that will illuminate the path in front of you and a massive red rear light. It also comes with side deck lights and additional ground effects. With all of these turned on, you’ll be lit like a bonfire and hard for other road users to miss.
Weighing 45.8 kg, the Wolf Warrior certainly isn’t a portable scooter. However, the added bulk does get you two enormous motorcycle-like tyres as well as powerful dual motors and a beefy but extra-durable frame. Like the Dualtron X, this is a scooter made to perform, so you probably won’t want to use it for casual errands or commuting, where portability is a must.
Another great thing about this scooter is that most of its innards are designed by Mini Motors USA, the company responsible for the Dualtron range. As a result, you’re getting the same power as you’d see on these mega-scooters, but at a fraction of the price. Costing £2,599, the Wolf Warrior is £2,651 cheaper than the Dualtron X, despite being almost as powerful.
If you are searching for an electric scooter that looks badass, has big wheels and raw power without the eye-watering price tag seen on similar scooters then the Wolf Warrior is the best choice for you.
The X isn’t the only Dualtron scooter on this list with tyres big enough to raise eyebrows – large wheels are a significant part of the Dualtron Thunder’s makeup, too. Plus, when it comes to this scooter, you can still channel your inner beast, but for around £2,250 less than the X 2.
Measuring 11 x 4 inches, the Thunder’s tyres are just marginally bigger than those found on the Wolf Warrior but are just as wide as those on the Dualtron X 2. This means you’ll experience the same stability and balance as you would on its more expensive counterpart. This is ideal for the speed fiends amongst you because not only do the bigger tyres allow you to pick up the pace, but their increased ground contact means you’ll never feel unsteady when racing along at the Thunder’s top speed of 50 mph.
Like the two previous scooters, the Thunder’s tyres are pneumatic so you can expect them to deliver excellent shock absorption. This is mostly down to their size which means they can roll effortlessly over potholes and bumps, but also because they’re incredibly thick and very durable as far as tyres go. They’re also tubeless, which means they have better resistance to flats than tyres with inner tubes do.
The tread on the Thunder is pretty smooth, which makes them ideal for on-road usage. Smoother tyres have more traction when ridden on solid paths, whereas those with a knobby texture tend to be better at finding grip on loose surfaces like sand or mud. However, that’s not to say the Thunder isn’t suitable for light off-roading. In fact, given its power, I’d say it would be a shame not to let this scooter stretch its legs off the beaten track. However, I’d stick to trails that are a bit firmer underfoot.
The shock absorption provided by the tyres on this scooter is supported by the Mini-motor’s favoured adjustable rubber suspension system. This means you can select different cartridges, ranging from soft to stiff, to tweak the Thunder’s suspension levels depending on your environment.
Like most scooters in the Dualtron range, the Thunder is all about power. Its dual 2700W motors put out amazing torque and give it the ability to climb 47% inclines, whilst the quality LG battery promises a range of 75 miles and a speedy recharge of 5.3 hours when you purchase the fast charger (20 hours without). When ridden at full power, the mileage you experience is likely to reduce slightly, but not significantly enough to hamper your enjoyment of the ride.
A scooter that promises this level of performance needs to be able to withstand the pressures of riding in full power mode. Well, Dualtron has gone all out here — the Thunder is built to last. The quality seen in the tyres extends to the rest of the scooter too. Like the X, it still has a chunky frame, but is a bit sleeker and urbanized than its tank-like sibling without losing any of the durability. It also comes with a similarly wide deck that helps to keep you balanced and supports riders up to 120 kg.
It’s equipped with dual hydraulic disc brakes that deliver a sharp and precise braking experience. A brake on each wheel helps to slow you down more quickly and gives you complete control of your ride at all times.
Further safety features include front and rear LED button lights as well as swag stem lighting and underdeck lights.
You’ll be pleased to hear that although the Thunder is still one of the most powerful and premium scooters you can get, it’s a bit lighter than both the Wolf Warrior and the Dualtron X 2. Weighing in at 43.1 kg, it’s still not going to be an easy lift for anyone though. It folds down nicely and also has folding handlebars, but you’re going to need a hand if you want to carry it anywhere.
At £2,999, this scooter is cheaper than the X 2 but still doesn’t beat the Wolf Warrior for price. Considering that these two are pretty on par when it comes to performance, deciding between them comes down to preference. Both are premium scooters, but if you want to get picky, the tyres on the Thunder are the wider out of the two. However, with the Wolf Warrior, you have the choice between choosing on or off-road tyres, making it slightly more versatile. If you’ve got the extra budget to spare and like the idea of having a scooter with the inimitable Dualtron name attached to it, the Thunder is a no-brainer.
If you’re more of an off-road explorer than an urban traveller, don’t panic. There are plenty of scooters out there with large tyres specifically suited to trails and mountain paths. Out of these, the Dualtron Ultra is one of the very best.
With its powerful dual 2700W motors, a top speed of 50 mph, and the ability to climb hills up to 25-degrees, the Ultra is similar to the Thunder, but with one crucial difference: its tyres feature a knobby design that’s perfect for off-road excursions. This kind of tread is more heavily textured than that of road tyres, which means it has better traction on looser surfaces like those of dirt tracks or mountain trails. If you’re planning to use your scooter for both on and off-roading, you can also purchase road tyres at an additional cost to up the versatility of the Ultra.
Like others in the Dualtron range, the Ultra’s tyres are pneumatic and tubeless, meaning they perform better in wet weather conditions and are also more flat-resistant. They also provide a good level of shock absorption, which is ideal for soaking up harsh hits and works well with the swing-arm suspension to protect your joints and deliver a smooth ride quality.
Measuring 11 x 3.5 inches, these wheels fit in with the chunky, oversized style that Dualtron is known for, although in terms of width, they’re only slightly thinner than those on the Thunder and the X. This doesn’t reduce the contact patch by much, and in fact, you might find the thinner profile allows you to make slightly more nimble turning movements.
The overall build of the scooter has been designed specifically to withstand the pressures of off-roading in the same way the tyres have. The already chunky 5 mm stem has been further enhanced with the addition of a 3.5 mm sleeve to reduce any strain as a result of jumps or sharp braking and the aviation-grade aluminium alloy frame is specifically tailored to absorb high-speed riding conditions. Additionally, specialized motor sinks have been internally fitted to help keep performance at an optimal level and stop the motors from overheating. The Ultra has been built to last.
Similar to other Dualtron models, the Ultra has been equipped with fully hydraulic dual disc brakes. Think smooth but responsive braking with minimal effort on your part and you’ve got a feel for what to expect from this setup. Each tyre benefits from its own brake, helping to bring you to a stop even faster. This is extremely important in an off-road setting, where you’ll be relying on your brakes a lot to keep your ride consistent and safe.
If you want to put your off-road tyres to the test, the Ultra has an extended range of 75 miles to help you out. It’s worth bearing in mind that your actual mileage will depend on a whole host of riding conditions such as rider weight and terrain type, but even so, the Ultra’s LG battery will keep you going for at least 50 miles.
One advantage the Ultra does have over the previous scooters in this list is that it’s significantly lighter, weighing 36.7 kg. Don’t get me wrong, this is still incredibly heavy and difficult for one person to manage on their own, but it’s much kinder on the back than other high-performance models. And let’s be honest, if you choose to buy a scooter like the Ultra, it’s highly unlikely you’ll be planning to take it on public transport with you.
At £2,500, it’s an expensive investment but is a bit cheaper than the Thunder. The price might be too much for casual riders, but if you’re someone who has a passion for off-roading and respect for the Dualtron brand, this shouldn’t put you off.

The wheels on the X7 Pro come in at 10 inches, which is slightly smaller than the likes of the Wolf Warrior or Dualtron models, however, they’ll feel a lot bigger than they are. This is because, unlike other scooters, the Turboant’s battery is stored in its stem. This means the deck is ultra-thin (like a skateboard) and allows the tyres to take centre stage. It’s a perfect set up if you’re a rider with a penchant for curb jumps.
The Pro’s tyres also have a thinner profile, measuring 2 inches in width. This is still wide enough to keep you properly balanced, even when riding in the fastest speed setting. The biggest advantage of having slightly thinner tyres is that it makes the scooter more agile. You’ll be able to manoeuvre more easily and execute faster turns than you would on a scooter where the contact patch is much wider. This will come in handy if you’re looking to use your scooter for commuting on busy inner-city roads.
The X7 Pro’s tyres are pneumatic, so you can rely on better traction in wet weather, especially on flat terrain like tarmac or grass which perfectly suit the Pro’s slick tread pattern. Another bonus of air-filled tyres is that they provide pretty solid shock absorption, cushioning impacts, and allowing the scooter to roll casually over obstacles. In the X7 Pro’s case, this is vital because it doesn’t have any suspension so the ride comfort comes primarily from the tyres.
At £434, the X7 Pro is a steal. Understandably, it doesn’t boast the same specs as the extreme performance scooters, but what it does offer is excellent value for money. Its 350W motor allows you to reach a top speed of 20 mph, even when climbing hills with a 15% incline grade. Even better, it offers a shockingly good range of 30 miles. The fact that the battery is detachable gives you a couple of different charging options for maximum versatility. It also means you can extend your mileage even further with the purchase of a second pack to swap in when the first one runs out of juice. Handy, right?
Considering the reasonable price tag, it’s downright impressive that the X7 Pro comes with a triple braking system. This includes an electronic motor brake as well as a disc brake and a foot brake. This means you can apply pressure in all the right places whenever you want to slow down. Together, the three can bring you to a stop in as little as 5 meters.
Like all good scooters, the X7 Pro comes with an LED headlight and taillight to keep you visible, however, I’d recommend additional lighting for regular nighttime excursions. It also features a smart LED screen on the handlebars so you can swap between the three different riding modes and monitor your basic stats.
At 15 kg, the X7 Pro is a refreshingly light option compared to some of the heftier scooters on this list. Despite its lighter size, it’s still incredibly durable and has a thick sturdy stem that’s specifically designed to withstand daily wear and tear. This extends to the overall exterior thanks to the Pro’s IPX4 water-resistant rating, which means it’s protected from water splashes and light rain.
If you’re looking for big, tall tyres and you don’t want to spend over £500, the Turboant X7 Pro is a great choice. Its wheels make it an ideal option for urban commuting or light, grassy off-road excursions and their height gives you great clearance for jumps and hops. Most importantly, they provide great shock absorption to deliver a smooth and comfortable ride on a scooter with no suspension. This, combined with the triple braking system, incredibly long-range, and extra sturdy build, make this scooter an absolute steal.
If you’re not on a strict budget and you’re looking for a scooter with a luxurious edge, then the Emove Cruiser should be high on your list of big-wheeled contenders.

When it comes to riding comfort, the Emove Cruiser knows how to deliver. Featuring 10 x 3 inch tyres that are slightly wider than you’ll find on the Turboant X7 Pro, you can guarantee a balanced ride even when riding at the Cruiser’s top speed of 25 mph. The increased surface contact works together with the large standing deck so that you’ll always feel secure.
The Cruiser’s tyres are pneumatic so you can expect excellent shock absorption against surface imperfections. Their increased size also means that you’ll be able to breeze over large potholes without being shaken all over the place. The tyres work alongside the dual air shock suspension system to protect your joints and deliver smooth, pleasurable sailing over most terrain.
In terms of tread, these guys aren’t knobby, so their slicker exterior is better matched to solid surfaces like tarmac and pavements, however, they’ll still provide better traction than solid tyres, even in wet weather. Overall, the Cruiser has been designed to perform well in adverse weather conditions and has an IPX6 waterproof rating, which is one of the best you can get. What this means is that the scooter can withstand high-pressure waterjets, so your scooter won’t suffer any damage even if you’re caught in a torrent of rain.
Similar to the more expensive performance scooters, the Cruiser’s tyres are tubeless. As I’ve mentioned, this means that they’re thicker and more durable as well as being more flat-resistant. They’re also shielded by some pretty chunky fenders, which will protect them even further. This is particularly useful if you’re a keen city rider – any number of sharp items could be waiting on the roads to cause mischief.
The Cruiser is pricier than the Turboant X7 Pro, costing £1,249, however, when you consider the features on offer, this isn’t surprising. For one thing, its battery is produced by LG, one of the biggest tech giants. At 62 miles, it offers over double the range without the need for an extra battery back. In fact, the Cruiser’s battery size is 3x bigger than those found on competitors in the same price class. You’ll have plenty of juice to try out the sturdiness of the Cruiser’s tyres and put its ride comfort to the test.
It also comes with front and rear hybrid hydraulic brakes. These work together to direct braking power to both of the wheels so you can come to a stop as quickly as possible. Hydraulic brakes are my preferred braking option because of their increased efficiency and responsiveness.
Like most good electric scooters, the Cruiser is fitted with a front headlight, taillight, and red deck lights too. This is one of the best lighting arrays I’ve seen on an electric scooter at this price, and they’re sufficient to light the path in front of you as well as making you visible to other riders. As a bonus, the Cruiser also features turn signals which are an awesome safety feature. These can be operated from the handlebar where you’ll also find the riding display and horn.

Their tread is pretty thick, meaning they have decent traction on solid surfaces, as well as there being enough texture for this scooter to be able to handle some light forest trails. If you’re a more serious off-roader or want to try it out in the future, you can purchase suitable off-road tyres at an extra cost to give the Pro 52V more versatility.
The tyres are pneumatic which, as I’ve mentioned, makes them safer because they generally have better grip in wet weather conditions. They also have great shock absorption, working in tandem with the front spring and rear hydraulic suspension to deliver a buttery-smooth ride quality. Unlike others on this list, these do come with an inner tube fitted, so there’s an increased risk of suffering a flat tyre if you hit something sharp at the wrong angle.
The Pro 52V has an aesthetic that’s unlike other scooters with tyres of a similar size. The frame doesn’t hug the wheel in the same way but sits above the tyres in an insectoid arc, giving it an edgy, disconnected feel and making the tyres feel bigger than they are. This is highlighted by the futuristic, blue-accented swingarms.
In addition to being both stylish and comfortable, the Pro 52V is fast. When you press the accelerator, you’ll be able to reach 30 mph in just 6.2 seconds, hitting the top speed of 38 mph not long after. This is thanks to the increased traction of the wheels and the dual 1000W motors which work together to produce some pretty impressive torque. It’s strong enough to propel you up hills with a 40% incline grade without slowing you down too much.
Both tyres have hydraulic disc brakes, delivering double the stopping power. The brakes are exceptionally high quality and will slow you down with the slightest pressure of your fingers. As a long-range scooter, the Pro 52V is very impressive. It’s LG battery means you can expect a maximum of 56 miles when ridden in eco or single-mode and offers a recharge time of 5 hours if you opt to purchase the fast charger (10 hours with the standard charging unit). It’s unlikely you’ll want to stick in the eco restriction all the time, so you can expect your mileage to go down depending on how aggressively you ride. If ridden in turbo or dual-mode constantly, you’ll see less than half of the advertised range.
This scooter also features the standard Apollo handlebar-mounted display which allows visibility over key riding stats. Beneath this, you’ll also find the key ignition, which is a great safety feature, however, it’s worth bearing in mind that the scooter can still be rolled away without the key. I’d purchase a bike lock if you’re planning to leave it unattended for any length of time.
At 34.9 kg, the Pro 52V isn’t the most portable scooter, and it’s not been made for ease of transport. However, this is a trade-off most people are willing to make given the amount of power it puts out.

When it comes to the WideWheel Pro Dual, it’s clear that this scooter is all about the tyres – in case you missed it, the clue is in the name. It may not have the tallest wheels but what it lacks in height, it makes up for in width.
Measuring 8 x 4 inches, the WideWheel rivals the Dualtron X 2 in terms of tyre thickness, meaning you can achieve that same floating ride sensation without having to splurge the big bucks to get it. At 4 inches, these are some of the thickest tyres on the market, so not only will you get that unique surfing ride quality, but you’ll also get one of the most balanced and stable rides thanks to the increased contact patch.
Typically, bigger tyres have much better rollover than smaller ones but despite the WideWheel only having 8 inch wheels, it’s still able to take on obstacles and irregular terrain thanks to the extremely powerful, torque-generating, motors which will propel you at speeds up to 26 mph. So, as you speed along, the grip and traction from the wide wheels make light work of the ground below. This comes in handy, particularly when you’re facing a hill climb. The combination of torque, front and rear-wheel drive system and the grip of the wheels mean you can climb pretty much any hill, including those steep streets in San Francisco.
Because the WideWheel Pro’s tyres are so, well, wide, you’ll find that the traction on this scooter is much better than on scooters with thinner wheels. This is because there’s more tyre to grip the road. The tread on the WideWheel is pretty smooth, so you’ll find that it performs best on flat terrains such as tarmac or light forest trails. If you’re a fan of more hardcore off-roading, I’d recommend looking at something with knobbier tyres so you have extra grip on loose surfaces.

The front and rear spring suspension will take care of you and keep your legs and wrists happy. Unlike the previous scooters I’ve reviewed on this list, the WideWheel Pro features solid tyres, rather than pneumatics. Usually, solid tyres are made from rubber, which can affect ride quality, but you won’t need to worry about this with the WideWheel. These tyres aren’t your bog-standard variety but are instead filled with PU foam. Dualtron is known for making the most powerful scooters, and the Dualtron Compact lives up to the hype. Like its older siblings, it also comes with chunky tyres that channel the typical oversized vibe Dualtron scooters are most well-known for.
With tyres measuring 8 x 3.5 inches, the Compact’s wheels are a tad smaller than others on the list, but they’re just as wide as those you’ll find on the Thunder. As a result, you’ll feel more stable and balanced when riding at a maximum speed of 40 mph than on other scooters with thinner tyres. However, as with other wide-wheeled scooters, be mindful of executing sharp turns or abrupt manoeuvres. Tyres this wide will need time to adjust to any sudden change in direction.
Something that sets the Compact apart from other scooters on this list is that its tyres are solid rubber all the way through. They don’t even contain any PU foam like the Widewheel Pro for extra cushioning. There are both positives and negatives to this.
On the bright side, you’ll never have to worry about getting a flat again – solid tyres are famously low-maintenance. However, on the other hand, the lack of cushioning means they provide little to no shock absorption when riding over rough surfaces. Steer clear of rough or rocky terrain though – you’ll feel the impact here.

Like the solid tyres, the brakes on the Compact are also designed for low-maintenance performance. It features a drum brake on each wheel, which means both wheels can slow down at the same time, bringing you to a halt more quickly. Drum brakes are both water and dirt-resistance, which makes them minimal maintenance. They might not be as efficient as hydraulics, but they still deliver strong braking performance when it matters.
Like all scooters in the Dualtron range, build quality is a standout feature. Made from aviation-grade aluminium alloy, the Compact is extremely tough and durable; it can easily support riders up to 120 kg. You won’t have any worries about this scooter falling apart mid-ride. This depends on the type of rider you are. In most cases, the answer is yes because they allow you to go faster and tackle challenging terrain. Scooters with bigger wheels deliver superior riding comfort to those with smaller ones. This is because they have a bigger contact patch, which gives you increased traction and shock absorption.
However, there are situations where smaller wheels may work in your favour. For instance, scooters with ultra-wide wheels can sometimes take a while to get used to because the handling is a bit clumsier and it’s harder to execute sharp turns or manoeuvres. If you’re a rider that needs something more nimble and quick to change direction, smaller wheels will serve you better.

This comes down to individual preference. There is an argument to be made that larger wheels are safer because they provide more traction as well as keeping you balanced and stable. What are the Benefits of Big Wheels?
Better Rollover
The ability to roll over obstacles.
Larger wheels have a shallower angle of attack when approaching obstacles and lets you roll over them much easier than if you had small wheels.
For example, imagine you are pulling a suitcase with small 2 inch wheels along and you have a 2 inch high obstacle in front of one of the wheels. It is going to be a struggle to get that suitcase to roll over the obstacle because of the steep angle that needs to be overcome. Now, imagine you are riding an electric scooter with 13 inch wheels. The angle of attack to roll over the 2 inch obstacle becomes a lot shallower and therefore, a smoother ride is achieved.
Increased Grip and Traction
The larger the tyre, the greater the surface area and contact with the ground below.
Wide tyres, in particular, have more rubber on their track which gives you more contact with the terrain and as a result, offers better grip and traction making the scooter easier to handle. This makes tackling rough terrain easier.
