Best 50 MPH Electric Scooters

In this article, you’ll find four of the beastliest scooters money can buy. Think attitude, think style, and most importantly, think speed. These bad boys all deliver a top speed of 50 mph and over. Each one is positively thrumming with insane levels of power.

Before we dive into what makes each of these outrageous scooters awesome, it’s important to mention that wearing the correct safety equipment and clothing is vital when it comes to scooters that go as fast as these do. A helmet is vital and if you’re a beginner, I’d recommend starting with something a little slower whilst you get used to riding.

At 55 mph, it has the highest top speed I’ve reviewed and an incredible range of 93 miles. There are fast scooters and then there are super fast scooters. The Dualtron X fits firmly in this second category. This is a monster of a machine and it isn’t shy about blowing its competitors out of the water. When you check out the jaw-dropping stats on this one-of-a-kind powerhouse, you’ll see what I mean.

Firstly, let’s just get this out of the way: the Dualtron X is unlike anything you’ll ever come across. Quite frankly, it’s outrageous. You only have to glimpse this scooter to see the power pulsing through its tanked up frame. Its menacing exterior isn’t just a facade either — it’s got the muscle to back it all up. It has more in common with a motorcycle than the other scooters you might be used to, and beginners will struggle to tame this beast. However, if you’re an experienced rider looking to take things to a whole new level, this scooter won’t disappoint.

Dualtron X in Urban Area with Front Lights Switched On

When it comes to speed, you’ll struggle to find anything to beat the Dualtron X. Thanks to the 6720W output from the massive dual hub motors, this baby can reach a top speed of 55 mph. No, you didn’t misread that. The speed this scooter offers means you’ll easily be able to match fast-moving traffic pace for pace.

In fact, the phenomenal torque and acceleration on offer will leave cars, scooters, and pedestrians alike blinking your dust out of their eyes. This isn’t an overstatement — if you’re planning to unleash that throttle, make sure you’re holding on tight because the X will practically leap out from underneath you.

The rapid acceleration on this thing won’t be daunted by something as minor as a hill-climb either. The Dualtron X has the ability to zoom up inclines of up to 70-degrees. Even the steep slopes of San Francisco won’t pose a problem for this monster. Its torque is off-the-charts and will rise to meet any hill-shaped challenge.

Dualtron X Rear Wheel Fender

When you’re dealing with high speeds, it’s even more important to make sure your scooter ticks the safety box. After all, hitting top speed isn’t quite as fun if you can’t slow down when you need to. Luckily, the full hydraulic front and rear disc brakes are more than up to the job. In fact, they’re the best brakes out there and also come with ABS too (anti-lock braking system).

Brakes are also crucial if you’re planning to take a scooter off-road and it would be tragic to deny the X the chance to stretch its legs. This guy has practically been made for hitting those mountain paths and forest trails. It’s packed from top to bottom with features designed to deliver excellent ride quality.

Dualtron X Off-Roading

For example, the Dualtron X comes with an innovative steering damper that helps to keep the steering tight so you have more control. You’re more likely to find this kind of thing on a motorcycle. It’s a unique touch for an electric scooter but is an extra safety precaution that’s great for off-roading and goes a long way on a machine that has as much speed as the X does.

The X also comes with the best suspension system I’ve ever reviewed. Other scooters in the Dualtron range use rubber suspension, however, the X features coil-over-shocks. This means that it’s a combination of a coil spring and a shock absorber in one. In case you didn’t know, it’s one of the most responsive suspension methods out there. That’s why they’re commonly used on off-road racing cars.

Dualtron X Rear Suspension

Of course, suspension is great and all, but it’s not worth a dime if your wheels aren’t up to scratch. Thankfully, the 13” pneumatic beasts you’ll find on the Dualtron X are more than capable of cruising over all types of terrain.

Their size offers a unique riding experience that might take you a while to get used to. Once you do, though, every other scooter you’ve ridden will pale in comparison. Their ultra-wide design offers near-flawless stability and increased traction, so you don’t need to worry about overbalancing. They’ll devour surface imperfections with relish, delivering one of the smoothest rides out there.

Dualtron X Front Suspension and Wide Tire

So, you know that the Dualtron X has speed, ride quality, and off-road capabilities, but can it go the distance? You bet it can.

This scooter has a mind-blowing range of 93 miles. When riding in the most aggressive setting, you’ll see a bit less than this, but in my book, anything over 50 miles is downright impressive. Especially considering the X can reach full battery in a mere 7.5 hours if you’re using the fast charger. This is one of the best recharge times I’ve ever seen.

If you’re planning extended journeys, you might want to invest in the additional seat attachment. This is sold separately but is well-suited to longer rides. It can be installed in just 2 minutes and is great if you want to kick back and relax.

The X features a top-of-the-range EYE LED display where you can monitor speed and battery life as well as operating your turn signals and an electric horn. If you want to add extra gadgets, like a phone holder, it also comes with a multi-bar.

Dualtron X Under Deck Lights

One of my favourite features available with the X is the fingerprint reader. You can use the reader to lock and unlock the X, keeping it safe if you have to leave it unattended. With other Dualtron models, the reader must be purchased separately, but with the X, it comes as standard.

The Dualtron X is as sturdy as they come, thanks to its cool, chunky aesthetic. The frame is one of the most durable on the market and feels solid through and through. The ultra-wide foot deck keeps you stable in all riding conditions and can support riders of up to 120 kg.

Dualtron X Wide Foot Deck

Thanks to the beefier design, wide tyres, and large motors, the Dualtron X is one of the heaviest scooters out there. Weighing a back-breaking 65.8 kg, there’s, unfortunately, nothing portable about it. Even lifting it in and out of the back of a pickup truck will be a struggle if you don’t have someone there to help you.

This is a very specific breed of scooter that hasn’t been designed for the casual everyday rider unless your every day is a non-stop adrenaline fest. Using it just for city living is a bit like keeping a tiger as a house pet. This is an elite machine for serious scooter enthusiasts, which is why it has a price tag of £5,599. Yes, it is eye wateringly expensive, but it accurately reflects the Dualtron X’s superior status in the electric scooter world.

2. Dualtron Thunder

Dualtron Thunder
Power, speed, and versatility? Yes, please. With a top speed of 50 mph and the ability to cruise city streets as well as rampage up and down mountain tracks, the Thunder is a great option for the rider who wants a machine to do it all. It’s also cheaper and lighter than the ferocious X.
£2,999.00

After having seen what the Dualtron X can do, it’s hard to imagine that any other scooter out there could possibly deliver the same thrill. The X’s younger brother, the Thunder, does an admirable job of it. Best of all, it’s cheaper and lighter too.

In reality, there are only a couple of big differences between the two, and this is because the Thunder paved the way for the X’s monstrous design and spec sheet.

Although slightly slower than the X, the Thunder’s impressive dual motors have a max output of 5400W which allows you to hit 50 mph almost effortlessly. That’s only 5 mph less than its ferocious older brother. Plus, the acceleration is just as responsive so you won’t miss out on the adrenaline surge when you hit that throttle and let loose.

That’s not to mention the outstanding torque that you’ll see on almost all Dualtron models. This is one of the many things that allow the Thunder to compete with fast-moving traffic, as well as crush slopes of up to 47-degrees without having to drop to a crawl.

Dualtron Thunder Outdoor Shot

There’s no denying that the Dualtron X is positively beastly and this can make it feel a little over the top for casual city riding. Luckily, this is where the Thunder comes into its own. Channelling a sleeker, more pared-back design, this scooter won’t look out of place cruising urban streets or weaving between city traffic. Don't get me wrong though, it's still beefy compared to your average commuter scooter.

It also has all the tools to hold its own out on the off-road track. Awesome speed and punchy torque aren’t the only features that make it ideal for exploring forest trails and rocky hillsides.

Dualtron Thunder Off Roading

Firstly, this scooter has an amazing range of 75 miles thanks to the top-quality LG battery. If you’re going to ride in the most aggressive setting, or you’re planning to spend most of your time out of the city, you’re likely to see less than this but you should still expect around 50 miles.

Plus, if you opt for the fast charger, you’ll be able to re-juice in just 5.3 hours. Using the standard charging option will inflate this to a whopping 20 hours, so if you’re the kind of person who’d rather be on your scooter than off it, opt for the speedier charger.

Dualtron loves a chunky tyre, and the 11” tubeless bad boys you’ll find on the Thunder are right on brand. They’re slightly smaller than the X, but compared to other tyres out there, they’re positively gargantuan. They’re certainly wide enough to keep you stable whilst sailing over a variety of surfaces. Plus, the tubeless design makes them more resistant to flats, unlike standard pneumatics. If you take a sharp hit whilst off-road, you won’t need to worry so much about tyre maintenance.

Dualtron Thunder Chunky Tubeless Tire

Complementing the plush tyres, the Thunder’s suspension system is designed so that you can tune it to your personal preferences. The Thunder comes with changeable rubber cartridges, ranging from soft to hard. This means that you can adjust your suspension level dependent on things like your environment or rider load. This makes the Thunder a versatile choice for the pumped-up adrenaline seeker who also needs to pay the bills and tackle the mundane commute to work.

Being able to switch between riding styles means your scooter needs to be built to do both. Dualtron have you covered. These guys are made to last and they’re some of the sturdiest options on the market thanks to their aviation-grade aluminium alloy frames. Plus, the massive foot deck will make you feel like you’re in control at all times – there’s no fear of overbalancing here.

Dualtron Thunder Wide Foot Deck

Of course, when we’re talking about safety, the brakes are the most important component. The Thunder is equipped with dual hydraulic brake callipers that respond to even the lightest touch. You don’t need to worry about over-braking though — the Thunder can bring you to a rapid stop without feeling jerky. It also comes with optional ABS (anti-lock braking system) that can be disabled if you’d prefer.

Dualtron Thunder Tire and Brake

Planning some extensive nighttime riding? No problem. The Thunder comes with a parade of lights including bright front and rear lights, as well as fun under-deck and stem lighting, both of which are fully customizable.

Dualtron Thunder Bright LED Lights

Another factor that makes the Dualtron Thunder such an attractive option is the reduced price in comparison to the X. It’s still not a cheap scooter but at £2,999, you’re making a saving of £2,600 whilst still benefiting from its immense power and speed. If your budget still won’t stretch that far, take a look at the Wolf Warrior — it has similar specs for less.

It’s not just the price tag that’s a bit lighter than the X. At 43.1 kg, the Thunder is almost 23 kg less than its older brother. Okay, so it’s still not something you’re going to be able to take on public transport or sprint up a flight of stairs with, but it is slightly easier to lift should you need to.

There’s no question that the Thunder has the speed and power to rival the Dualtron X; it’ll still get your blood pumping and your adrenaline spiking. What makes it so great is that, unlike its beastly older sibling, it’s a more versatile option and can handle city streets just as easily as mountain paths. If you’re the sort of person that doesn’t want their scooter to only tick a single box, the Thunder is a great choice.

3. Dualtron Ultra

Dualtron Ultra
Imagine the Dualtron Thunder, but made exclusively for off-road adventures. That’s what the Dualtron Ultra is all about. It has a top speed of 50 mph and thanks to its knobby tyres and inbuilt suspension, it has been purpose-built for leaving the city behind you. It’s one of the most durable and reliable scooters out there when it comes to speedy off-road options.
£2,500.00

Versatility is great and all but if you’re someone who feels the call of off-road adventure thrumming in your veins, there’s only one thing you’re going to want to use your scooter for. Spoiler: it’s not the morning commute.

Luckily for you, there’s a Dualtron out there for everyone and If you’re looking to leave the city paths behind you, let me introduce you to the Dualtron Ultra. Similar to the Thunder in every way that matters, it has one overarching difference: it’s been designed to get you off-road.

Dualtron Ultra Off-Roading

Thankfully, this doesn’t mean you’re going to have to compromise on speed. The Ultra easily keeps pace with the Thunder, boasting a top speed of 50 mph thanks to the powerful 5400W output from its motors. Its acceleration is just as impressive too and will have your heart rate soaring the minute you hit the throttle.

For an off-road scooter, this is pretty darn fast and the Ultra comes with three different riding modes to help you manage your ride. You can also swap between single and dual motor settings with a flick of a button, moderating your power when you need to.

Dualtron Ultra V2 Handlebars

If you’re planning to hit that 50 mph limit regularly, you can rest assured that the ABS-equipped front and rear disc brakes are purpose-built to deliver responsive stopping power without locking up. Even a soft squeeze will have a noticeable effect on your speed so that you can come to a smooth and controlled halt without skidding or jerking. On a scooter this fast, these powerful brakes get a big thumbs up from me.

So, if the speed is the same as the Thunder, what actually sets the Ultra apart as an ‘off-road’ scooter?

The most obvious indicator is the Ultra’s 10” x 3.5” pneumatic tubeless tyres. They’re not quite as large as those on the Dualtron X or the Thunder, but they feature a knobby texture that guarantees better traction on sandy and loose surfaces. On most road scooters, the tread pattern on the tyres is smooth, which reduces the possibility of a bumpy ride. The tyres on the Ultra are the opposite. If you are planning to ride this scooter on-road, you’ll have to purchase a separate set of road tyres to do so.

Dualtron Ultra V2 Knobby Tires

Off-roading and shoddy build quality don’t mix. Period. You need a scooter that can withstand all the knocks you’re going to throw at it and then some. It’s a good thing that Dualtron knows this too, and so they’ve designed and delivered a scooter with supreme durability.

Its frame is made from the Dualtron-favored aviation-grade aluminium alloy and the 5 mm neck has been reinforced with a 3.5 mm sleeve to increase strength and durability against the added strain from jumps and hops. This is also helped by the front and rear swingarm suspension that works to protect your legs and hips when riding on punishing surfaces.

Dualtron Ultra V2 Frame

The Ultra features the same maximum range as the Thunder, promising 75 miles on a single charge. Especially when off-roading, you’re going to see a bit less than this because the battery and motor will be working harder to power you over or through tricky obstacles. Nevertheless, you’ll get a respectable range and it only takes 5.3 hours to recharge if you opt for the fast charger.

This scooter also features an EYE LED display, as seen on most Dualtron models. This allows you to monitor your speed and battery life as well as operate your bright headlights when riding at night.

Dualtron Ultra V2 Powerful LED Lights

Aside from its off-road capabilities, the biggest difference between the Ultra and Thunder lies in the price and weight. It’s £499 less than the Thunder, retailing at £2,999.

It’s also 6.4 kg lighter than the Thunder, weighing in at 36.7 kg. Although it’s great to see the weight dropping as we explore the different scooters within the Dualtron range, this is still too heavy to lift comfortably and you won’t want to be carrying it around on your own.

Dualtron Ultra V2 Large Reinforced Foot Deck

It’s clear that the Dualtron Ultra has been designed for one thing and it does it well. It’s not going to be the kind of scooter that appeals to a wide audience but is perfect for those who want to take their riding experience out of the city without compromising on speed and badass attitude. This baby will deliver the adrenaline surge you’re looking for.

4. Wolf Warrior

Wolf Warrior
The Wolf Warrior is one of the most powerful scooters on the market and with a top speed of 50 mph, it’s one of the fastest too. It adapts easily to city riding but relishes the chance to get off-road. At 45.8 kg, it’s one of the heaviest scooters on the list but it’s also the cheapest too.
£2,599.00

It’s hard not to fall in love with the Dualtron range considering the power and speed they offer. However, most people are put off by their staggering price tags. So, is there any way you can get a scooter that packs a powerful punch and has off-the-charts acceleration that won’t break the bank? You bet there is.

It’s time for the Wolf Warrior to take centre stage.

Wolf Warrior Review: Is It Still a Worthwhile Investment?

With Kaabo bringing out a range of different Wolf models – including the Wolf Warrior X, X Pro, King, and King GT – we take a deep dive into the Wolf Warrior's performance to let you know if its still a worthwhile investment.

To put it bluntly, there’s nothing about this scooter that I don’t like. It can do it all and still manages to keep its price below £3,000. Costing £2,599, it’s a more affordable way for you to experience and harness extreme thrill levels. And trust me, the Wolf Warrior is extreme in all the right ways.

Kaboo Wolf Warrior Frame

You’re here to check out the fastest scooters on the market, and with a top speed of 50 mph and brutal acceleration, the Warrior definitely ticks that box. It can easily keep pace with the likes of the Thunder and Ultra thanks to the 2400W combined power of its dual motors. This beast makes reaching 50 mph look easy.

This is because the throttle is so sensitive and the torque so powerful that no matter what, you’ll never feel as though the scooter is struggling to maintain pace. That goes for hill climbs too. The Wolf Warrior eats slopes for breakfast and can best a 30-degree incline with no problem.

Kaboo Wolf Warrior Handlebars

When it comes to scooters with strong acceleration, you need equally strong brakes to slow you down and keep you safe. The Wolf Warrior features front and rear hydraulic brakes. They’re ultra-responsive and have enough muscle to bring the scooter to a smooth stop from top speeds. They aren’t jerky either, so you won’t run the risk of overbalancing.

Kaboo Wolf Warrior Hydraulic Brakes

The ultra-wide foot deck helps with this too. It feels like the entire build of the Wolf Warrior has been put together with the sole intention of keeping you steady and stable when riding at extreme speeds. You’ll never feel uncomfortable or out of control.

This is especially important if you’re planning to take the Wolf Warrior off-road. The beauty of this scooter lies in the fact that it’s just as versatile as the Thunder, but at its core, you won’t ever experience the best it has to offer until you wave goodbye to those city streets and give this horse its head.

This scooter has a ton of features that are well-matched to the rigours of off-roading, starting with its tyres. These 11” tubeless beauties are so plush that they deliver a luxurious ride no matter what surface you’re sailing over. They do an awesome job of absorbing sharp hits and the fact that they come without inner tubes means you’re less likely to suffer a flat tyre. Best of all, you can specifically opt for off-road tyres when purchasing the Wolf Warrior. These have a knobby texture that is designed to grip loose surfaces.

Kaboo Wolf Warrior Knobby Tires

Your other option features a smoother tread for urban riding. These do a decent job on rocky trails, but they’re not as good as their off-road counterparts. That said, they’re still a decent choice if you don’t favour one riding style over the other.

Regardless of which tyre option you go for, both are complemented by the front hydraulic and rear spring suspension. This will reduce any jarring from harsh impacts and deliver a much smoother, more enjoyable ride in any environment. This is great news if you’re partial to an occasional bunny hop or two.

Wolf Warrior Hydraulic Suspension and Knobby Tires

With a scooter this cool, you’re going to want to spend a fair amount of time on it — I don’t blame you. Thankfully, the Wolf Warrior’s huge 35 Ah LG battery means that you can keep going for up to 70 miles on a single charge. You’ll only see this kind of range if you’re planning to stick in single motor or eco-mode, but even the most aggressive riders should expect around 50 miles. Plus, with a short recharge time of 7.5 hours, it won’t take long for you to top up the battery when you need to.

There’s no denying that the Wolf Warrior has power to spare and it can hold its own against top-of-the-line models like the Dualtron Thunder. But let me tell you a secret. The reason for this is that many of the components that make the Wolf Warrior such a fierce scooter, including the LED EYE display, are manufactured by Mini Motors USA. If you didn’t know, these are the guys who are responsible for designing and building the scooters in the Dualtron range.

Kaboo Wolf Warrior Powerful Headlights

The Wolf Warrior has a menacing reputation, backed up by its monstrous aesthetic. However, all this power comes at a cost. The Wolf Warrior is one of the heaviest scooters I’ve ever reviewed, weighing 45.8 kg. This is beaten only by the Dualtron X. If you need a machine you can easily transport on your own, the Wolf Warrior isn’t the one for you.

The Wolf Warrior is one of the best electric scooters on the market. It has a strong lineup of premium features and is more affordable than other extreme performance scooters out there. If you’re after something that has an edgy attitude and a ferociousness at its heart, the Wolf Warrior is a real winner.
